At nearly sixteen, Mary Ann Bennet is beginning to feel concerned about the direction her life is going — or, rather, that it doesn't seem to be going in any particular direction at all. She travels to Gloucestershire to spend the summer with her cousin Alice, who, since they last met, has grown up into a beautiful young lady set to follow in her father’s footsteps as a successful businessperson. Not one to be outdone, Mary sets out to find her own path... if she can figure out where to start.
This is a collection of short stories about Mary's time in the English countryside, her experiences, emotional maturation, and new friends. They take place directly after the events of Looking Glass of the Heart.
